Zachariou FLS. A school where learning feels alive
Paulo Freire, educator and philosopher, founder of Critical Pedagogy, wrote that the traditional school, where the teacher speaks, and students patiently receive, memorise, and repeat, “turns them into containers, into receptacles to be filled by the teacher", depriving them of critical thinking and the joy of learning.
Education is not about depositing information. It’s about sparking curiosity and discovery, shaping spaces where students think, question, express themselves and co-create knowledge.
In the photo above, our junior students embody this transformation. Knowledge in our school is not a burden, but a beautiful, liberating journey.
